420 with CNW — Why CBD Is Viable Treatment for Skin Inflammation

Cannabidiol, or CBD, is one of the two common compounds found in marijuana, the other being THC. Unlike THC, which is a psychoactive compound, CBD is a nonpsychoactive compound. These compounds can be derived directly from the hemp plant or manufactured in a lab. Research has shown that CBD holds the potential for the treatment of various conditions, including post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and anxiety.

It also possesses anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, which can help control various skin issues that commonly affect skin. Its anti-inflammatory properties in particular can be used to treat different skin illnesses. Some consumers prefer using CBD skincare products instead of other skincare and beauty products in the market. Below are some of the benefits one can derive from using CBD for skin inflammation.

CBD can be used to manage acne

Acne is a common inflammatory condition that affects individuals across the globe. It can cause redness and puffiness in an individual’s face, among other things.

CBD can help control acne by managing the redness, puffiness and inflammation associated with this common skin condition. This means that it’s possible for individuals affected with acne to keep their skin healthy and clear using CBD.

CBD can manage inflammation caused by aging

Inflammation is one of the signs of aging that can be seen in individuals. Inflammation is mainly brought about by the accumulation of free radicals on the skin in a process known as oxidative stress.

CBD’s excellent antioxidant properties can be used to control the inflammation caused by oxidative stress, which will in turn help reduce the visible signs of aging on an individual’s skin. This means that CBD skincare products can be used to keep an individual’s skin healthy, young and glowing.

In addition, CBD can also help control various skin diseases such as acne and psoriasis, which means that CBD skincare products can help manage different skin diseases naturally.

CBD can reduce inflammation caused by psoriasis

Psoriasis is a skin disease that causes itchy, scaly and red patches on the scalp, trunk, elbows and knees of an individual. This disease causes difficulties in individuals who suffer from this condition. CBD may help control this skin disease by reducing the inflammation associated with psoriasis and related disorders. CBD has also demonstrated its potential in reducing other symptoms associated with psoriasis, such as pain, swelling and scaly patches.

Companies such as Flora Growth Corp. (NASDAQ: FLGC) are leveraging the anti-inflammatory attributes of CBD by including this cannabinoid in the formulation of their beauty products, and from the way these products are growing in popularity, consumers seem to be receiving value for their money.

420 with CNW — Follow These Expert Suggestions When Sourcing CBD Oil

CBD was legalized in 2018 when the farm bill allowed the cultivation and sale of industrial hemp and its derivatives. Soon after, the hemp extract was enjoying growing popularity as people flocked to buy products such as CBD oil and gummies, partly due to its purported medical benefits. However, the industry is barely regulated by the federal government, and this has allowed some dishonest sellers to slip in and sell subpar and even contaminated CBD oil. The next time you want to buy CBD oil, keep the following tips in mind to ensure you do not end up with a subpar product that could compromise your health.

Request a Certificate of Analysis (“COA”). A COA is a document that outlines the CBD oil’s ingredients and provides the results of extensive tests for any contaminants. A COA is proof of transparency and shows that a company has confidence in the quality and safety of its products. Any CBD company that refuses to provide a Certificate of Analysis should have your alarm bells ringing: either they haven’t had their products tested to see if they meet safety standards or they have received negative feedback but would rather sell their products as is.

Once you get your hands on a product’s COA, make sure it has these three panels:

  • A cannabinoid analysis that indicates the concentration and weight of the cannabinoids in the CBD oil. Trace levels of THC can build up in your system and lead to a failed drug test
  • A heavy metal analysis panel indicating the levels of heavy metals such as mercury and lead. Extended exposure to these metals can severely disrupt your health. Any CBD oil product that has more than 0.001 mg/mL of cadmium, 0.0001 mg/mL of mercury, or 0.003 mg/mL of lead is a big no.
  • A pesticides analysis panel. Hemp will absorb any chemical agents that are introduced as it develops including herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers. Continued exposure to these chemicals can disrupt your hormones, weaken your immunity and even cause liver toxicity.

Check that the testing was done by a third-party laboratory as it is proof of accurate and unbiased testing. A dishonest company is likely to fudge its internal tests if those tests produce unfavorable results.

Furthermore, you should also do a quick search on the lab to make sure it is qualified and trustworthy. If you have allergies, have a look at the ingredients as well and ensure the CBD oil is organic. Full-spectrum CBD oil will have every other cannabinoid except THC, and most CBD oils use either MCT oil, almond oil, sunflower oil, olive oil or vegetable oil as a carrier oil. Some companies also offer vegan CBD oil and gluten-free CBD oil, which will most likely be indicated in the list of ingredients or labels.

Finally, ask plenty of questions. Look at product reviews and talk to people who have used specific CBD products. Make sure you speak to your doctor too, especially if you are pregnant or on other medication.

Companies that make medicinal CBD products, such as Simply Sonoma Inc., appear to hold themselves to an even higher standard. Users would be well advised to do their due diligence in order to identify reputable companies that are committed to manufacturing high-quality products.

The piece also mentions a recent study forecasting the global cannabis drinks sector to triple in value to $5.8 billion by 2024. “While a number of large global brands, including AB InBev and Molson Coors have recently announced plans to produce CBD-containing products, there is no doubt that the cannabis drinks market remains largely untapped.”

420 with CNW — What You Should Know About Marijuana-Infused Drinks, Dosages

The popularity of cannabis and cannabis products has increased significantly in the last few years as more states legalize the herb for various uses. This has also led to the introduction of new cannabis products into the market, including cannabis-infused beverages, which exist in different forms such as kombuchas, tonics, cocktails, juice-based drinks, flavored seltzers and sparkling waters. Consumers who haven’t tried beverages infused with cannabinoids such as THC and CBD are often not sure what dosage may work for them.

Most beverages that contain THC, which is a psychoactive cannabinoid, have varying dosages that can range between 2 mg and 100 mg. On the other hand, infused drinks that contain CBD, which is a nonpsychoactive cannabinoid, have dosages ranging between 15 and 50 mg.

If you would like to try infused drinks but aren’t sure if they are stronger than edibles, it is important to keep in mind that the potency over beverages depends not only on the dosage but also how an individual’s body processes the cannabinoids. Different individuals respond to varying doses differently, based on factors such as body chemistry.

Usually, it takes between 45 minutes to one and a half hours for the body to process an edible, after which the cannabinoid is absorbed into the bloodstream. On the other hand, cannabis-infused beverages only take between 8–15 minutes to take effect, which is why it is important to pay attention to your serving size, especially if you’re new to infused drinks and edibles.

How can you know the right dosage for you?

Individuals who are curious about marijuana and are new to using the substance should start with a beverage with a low dose, perhaps 2 to 4 mg of THC per about 8 ounces of fluid. Ensure that you also consume the drink slowly, which allow you to observe how your body reacts to the cannabinoids as well as how you feel and how long it takes for you to feel the drink’s effects.

If you’re an occasional cannabis consumer, drinks in the 20 mg range may suit your taste. You are also advised to take it slowly and observe how your body reacts to the beverage. Regular marijuana consumers who most likely have a high tolerance to the herb may consume a high-dose drink. Beverages that contain about 100 mg of THC may be ideal.

If you’re a regular consumer of cannabis but are new to high-dose beverages, you are advised to take it slowly and space out your doses. This will afford you the opportunity to observe how your body feels throughout the experience. This is especially vital for individuals taking infused drinks for health and wellness purposes.

Companies such as BevCanna Enterprises Inc. (CSE: BEV) (OTCQB: BVNNF) (FSE: 7BC) have perfected making infused drinks, and the growing popularity of these drinks speaks volumes about the science behind them.

420 with CNW — California Cannabis Seizures Skyrocket Despite Legalization

The illicit cannabis market has proven to be quite resilient. Although the assumption had been that once states start legalizing the controversial plant, consumers would ditch the black market for legal pot, that’s not how things have turned out. Years after recreational cannabis was first legalized, the black market still vastly outsells America’s state-legal marijuana industry.

In California, for instance, the illicit market is estimated to generate $8 billion per year while the legal market makes around $4.4 billion annually. As such, authorities in California, which features the most lucrative cannabis industry in the country, have stepped up their efforts against black-market dealers.

The past few years have seen a steady rise in the amount of illicit cannabis that authorities in the state have seized. According to California Attorney General Rob Bonta, the Department of Justice’s annual Campaign Against Marijuana Planting Program (“CAMP”) has seized and destroyed almost 1.2 million illicit cannabis plants this year.

This is nearly double the 614,267 illicit cannabis plants that were seized in 2018. The CAMP program has been seizing more and more illicit pot per year, eradicating 953,459 plants in 2019 and 1.1 million in 2020. While those numbers are high, they do not compare to 2009, when the CAMP program seized and destroyed an unprecedented 4.5 million cannabis plants.

Even as California and the country at large have enjoyed increasing cannabis sales, the cannabis black market has held on like a tick, stealing already scarce water, denying states millions of dollars in tax revenue and damaging the environment in the process. Not to mention the fact that illicit cannabis products are more likely to be subpar and impact the health of users. The CAMP program has been hard at work this year, seizing more than 180,000 pounds of marijuana as well as 165 weapons; in addition, the program has removed more than 67,000 pounds of cultivation infrastructure in just 13 weeks, according to the state’s attorney general’s office.

In his statement, Bonta said that illegal cannabis grows are harmful to the environment, the health and safety of the community, and the economy. He directed his office to begin a six-month review of the CAMP program in partnership with local, state and federal agencies to make the program even more effective at finding illegal cannabis farms, destroying the operations, and addressing their environmental, labor and economic consequences.

This clampdown is good for licensed sector players such as American Cannabis Partners because all actors would play by the same rules once illicit sellers are weeded out.

CannabisNewsBreaks – Cannabis Strategic Ventures Inc. (NUGS) Announces Key Milestone in Building Farm-to-Sale Vertical Model

Cannabis Strategic Ventures (OTCQB: NUGS), an emerging leader in the U.S. cannabis marketplace, today announced that the company is set to take full operational control of the downtown Los Angeles “MDRN Tree” cannabis product dispensary. MDRN Tree is the company’s first in-house end-market consumer-facing retail sales outlet. Beginning in November 2021, NUGS will begin to record sales from the dispensary on its books. “We continue to build a full farm-to-sale vertical model, and MDRN Tree is a big part of that vision,” said Simon Yu, CEO of NUGS. “It’s exciting to watch the pieces come together, and we look forward to supplying and growing the MDRN Tree brand and continuing to develop a model that will give our cultivation business wider distribution at potentially higher margins.”
