CannabisNewsBreaks – Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ: LEXX) Announces Significant Findings from Sildenafil Animal Study

Lexaria Bioscience (NASDAQ: LEXX), a global innovator in drug-delivery platforms, has reported positive findings in its recent animal study. The study was designed to evaluate LEXX’s proprietary DehydraTECH(TM) processing of the phosphodiesterase inhibitor (“PDE5 inhibitor”) sildenafil for potential use in the management of erectile dysfunction. According to the company, the DehydraTECHsildenafil delivered 74% more drug at four minutes than the concentration-matched, generic control formulation with faster and higher overall delivery of sildenafil into the bloodstream evidenced over the course of the study. The most recognizable sildenafil product available currently is Viagra(R), but some users find it slow to act. Lexaria hopes the recent study findings lead to the development of faster, better-acting sildenafil oral formulations. The animal study was conducted at a third-party independent laboratory located in the United States and involved 20 male Sprague-Dawley rats (two groups of 10 rats each) being treated with a single dose of the DehydraTECH-sildenafil and Control-sildenafil formulations.

CannabisNewsBreaks – Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ: LEXX) Issues Annual Letter from CEO, Stakeholder Update

Lexaria Bioscience (NASDAQ: LEXX, LEXXW), a global innovator in drug delivery platforms, today provided an annual letter from CEO Chris Bunka and a thorough strategic update to all stakeholders. In the update, Bunka described Lexaria’s key area of focus to improve the company’s understanding of the capabilities of its ground-breaking DehydraTECH(TM) drug-delivery technology to enhance its abilities to commercialize and profit from this technology platform. “DehydraTECH is not an EVOLUTION of existing technology – it is a REVOLUTIONARY new drug delivery platform,” Bunka explains in the letter. “Expecting entire industries to change overnight to adopt a revolutionary new process is not realistic: it takes time, evidence and a lot of positive results to overcome industry inertia. We have long been hopeful that, before the end of 2022, we will have built sufficient data to effect meaningful industry and/or regulatory progress and sustainable increases in valuation… Before 2022 ends, we expect to have at least one major regulatory advancement such as an IND program approval, or one major new industry partner. We believe either of those will support what could be significantly higher valuations. If we are able to achieve more than one of these advancements…so much the better.”

Lexaria Bioscience (NASDAQ: LEXX) CEO and chair Chris Bunka is the guest on a recent episode of the EDGE podcast. Hosted by entrepreneur and angel investor Brandon C. White, the EDGE is a podcast series focused on providing a playbook for business owners that takes a look at the inner game of building a successful business and giving listeners the edge to become smarter, healthier and richer. Lexaria Bioscience is a global innovator in drug-delivery platforms. During the interview, Bunka shared his background and the journey that led him to Lexaria. He also talked about Lexaria’s business model and the company’s focus on improving the delivery of active pharmaceutical ingredients, vitamins and minerals. CannabisNewsBreaks – Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ: LEXX) Provides Comments Regarding Study Examining Cannabinoids and SARS-CoV-2

Lexaria Bioscience (NASDAQ: LEXX), a global innovator in drug-delivery platforms, has commented on a recent study that indicated that cannabinoids have the potential to prevent as well as treat infection by SARS-CoV-2. The comments came from lead research scientist Dr. Richard van Breeman, who granted an interview with vice.com discussing the independent study. In his comments, Breemen observed that smoking or vaping of cannabis was likely not effective, but oral delivery was, causing Breeman to recommend oral administration of cannabis compounds. Lexaria is keenly interested in the study because the company is actively engaged in research with its exclusive DehydraTECH(TM)-powered cannabinoid formulations, which include an advanced oral DehydraTECH-CBD formulation. “Lexaria has led the conversation for years related to oral delivery of cannabinoids and is a world-leader through its pioneering drug delivery technology, DehydraTECH, in more effective delivery of cannabinoids to the human bloodstream through oral means,” said Lexaria Bioscience CEO Chris Bunka in the press release.

CannabisNewsBreaks – Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ: LEXX) Leveraging DehydraTECH(TM) to Deliver More Effective Oral Medicine

Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ: LEXX), a global innovator of drug delivery platforms, is increasing the effectiveness of orally administered drugs. With oral absorption being the most convenient and widely used route for taking medications, decades of research have advanced the understanding of critical factors controlling oral bioavailability. Scientists are now better understanding the physiological function and formulation functionality that has been used in designing improved and more desirable oral medicine delivery through extensive research. Lexaria is accomplishing this through its patented DehydraTECH(TM) technology. “DehydraTECH improves the way that active pharmaceutical ingredients (‘APIs’) make their way into the bloodstream. This is achieved by promoting healthier ingestion methods and an increase in the effectiveness of fat-soluble active molecules,” explains a recent article. “Lexaria’s DehydraTECH can be summarized by these major benefits: speeds up delivery; increases bioavailability; increases brain absorption; improves drug potency; reduces drug administration costs; and masks unwanted taste. One of Lexaria’s recent human clinical trials (HYPER-H21-2) using DehydraTECH-processed cannabidiol (‘CBD’) evidenced reduced arterial stiffness. The discovery potentially broadens Lexaria’s application’s ability to treat cardiovascular and other diseases beyond hypertension.”

CannabisNewsBreaks – Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ: LEXX) Announces Approval from Independent Review Board for DehydraTECH-CBD Human Clinical Study

Lexaria Bioscience (NASDAQ: LEXX), a global innovator in drug-delivery platforms, has received Independent Review Board (“IRB”) approval for its planned DehydraTECH-CBD human hypertension study HYPER-H21-4; the approval was received earlier than anticipated. The study is designed to “de-risk” outcomes prior to the company’s planned entry into regulatory pathways for the use of DehydraTECH-CBD to treat hypertension and perhaps other forms of cardiovascular disease. The six-week study, which is entirely funded through the existing cash resources, is planned to include 60 volunteers, aged 45 to 70, using three 150 mg doses of DehydraTECH-CBD daily for the duration of the study. Dosing is anticipated to begin by April of next year. The study will incorporate a double-blinded, randomized, cross-over design, with a placebo control. The length of the study allows the company to evaluate the impact of DehydraTECH-CBD over time as well as the potential for longer-term health benefits. This study is the most comprehensive undertaken by Lexaria. “The hypertension market is valued at $28 billion per year and is expected to continue growing as one of the world’s top health problems and as a subset of the larger heart disease market,” the company stated in the press release. “Over 1.1 billion people worldwide suffer from hypertension. Fewer than 1 person in 4 with hypertension have successfully controlled their blood pressure through medications, meaning the potential market for hypertension drugs is much larger than $28 billion per year if an affordable drug was available with few or no side effects. Lexaria believes that its DehydraTECH-CBD may introduce a more tolerable anti-hypertensive treatment option that may be used alone or in combination with other medications, to reduce BP with fewer discouraging and unwanted side effects.”

CannabisNewsBreaks – Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ: LEXX) Pursuing Regulatory Approvals for DehydraTECH(TM), Entry into Different Markets

Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ: LEXX) is embarking on new programs as well as extending ongoing ones as it pursues regulatory approvals and entry into different market sectors. In January 2022, the company expects to report blood pressure findings from its third human hypertension study, HYPER-H21-3, building on the successes of the first two human studies that evidenced effective, sustained and safe blood pressure reduction with DehydraTECH-CBD. The company will also be expecting approvals for the protocols around its fourth hypertension study, HYPER-H21-4, which is just one of the many planned studies slated for 2022. “Others include HOR-A22-1, a pharmacokinetic study to evaluate DehydraTECH’s ability to improve the delivery characteristics of estrogen; DEM-A22-1, an efficacy modeling study to evaluate DehydraTECH-CBD with and without nicotine for the potential treatment of dementia; RHEUM-A22-1, an efficacy modeling study to investigate the ability of DehydraTECH-CBD to potentially affect the treatment of rheumatoid disease; and DIAB-A22-1, an efficacy modeling study to explore DehydraTECH-CBD’s ability to potentially impact treatment of diabetes,” explains a recent article. “In addition to fulfilling Lexaria’s goal to enter into new, different multibillion markets, the four animal studies will mark the company’s push to help patients living with these conditions, some of which are potentially fatal.”

CannabisNewsBreaks – Lexaria Bioscience Corp.’s (NASDAQ: LEXX) Study Results Expected to Demonstrate DehydraTECH-CBD’s Effectiveness Against Hypertension

Lexaria Bioscience (NASDAQ: LEXX, LEXXW), a global innovator in drug delivery platforms, today announced that its human clinical study HYPER-H21-3 is expected to complete all dosing and sample collection this week. The study, undertaken to examine the effects of DehydraTECH-CBD upon acute pulmonary hypertension, used a blinded design with administration of a single 300mg dose of a specific DehydraTECH 2.0 CBD formulation compared to placebo in a target group of sixteen enrolled volunteers. Subject to pending analysis of samples collected from the study, blood pressure results are expected to be reported soon. Exposure to acute reductions in oxygen tension (i.e., hypoxia) causes rapid hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction (“HPV”) and pulmonary arterial pressure increases as a consequence of this HPV response. If the increase in pressure becomes too high, an excess of fluid in the lungs can occur that causes difficulty with breathing. The extent to which CBD may act as a novel treatment for HPV and potentially as an alternative treatment for pulmonary hypertension is unknown. Therefore, the primary objective of the study is to evaluate the effect of DehydraTECH-CBD on pulmonary vascular function in normotensive individuals exposed to hypoxia. Results from HYPER-H21-3 are expected to add to Lexaria’s growing body of evidence for the effectiveness of DehydraTECH-CBD against hypertension, and findings will be submitted to regulators such as the FDA as Lexaria pursues its planned investigational new drug research program.

About Lexaria Bioscience Corp.

Lexaria’s patented drug delivery technology, DehydraTECH(TM), improves the way active pharmaceutical ingredients (“APIs”) enter the bloodstream by promoting more effective oral delivery. Since 2016, DehydraTECH has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to increase bio-absorption with cannabinoids and nicotine by 5-10x and, in some instances with cannabinoids by as much as 27x compared to standard industry formulations, reduce time of onset from one to two hours to minutes, and mask unwanted tastes. The technology is also being evaluated for orally administered anti-viral drugs, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (“NSAIDs”), PDE5 inhibitors and more. DehydraTECH has also evidenced an ability to deliver some drugs more effectively across the blood brain barrier. Lexaria operates a licensed in-house research laboratory and holds a robust intellectual property portfolio with 23 patents granted and over 50 patents pending worldwide. CannabisNewsBreaks – Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (NASDAQ: LEXX) Releases Follow-Up Study Results Confirming DehydraTECH(TM)-CBD Arterial Stiffness Reduction

Lexaria Bioscience (NASDAQ: LEXX), a global innovator in drug-delivery platforms, is reporting additional results from its human clinical study HYPER-H21-2. The study was designed to evaluate the company’s proprietary DehydraTECH(TM)-processed cannabidiol (“CBD”) and its effectiveness in the treatment of hypertension. Results confirm the substance’s ability to reduce arterial stiffness and indicate potential broader applications beyond hypertension, including the treatment of cardiovascular and other diseases. According to the company, arterial stiffness can be a predictor of a variety of human diseases, including hypertension, diabetes mellitus, renal disease and more. A unique CBD formulation developed by Lexaria, DehydraTECH-CBD is based on the company’s patented and proprietary DehydraTECH drug-delivery technology. The company’s Human Study HYPER-H21-2 included 16 human volunteers aged 45 to 65 who received either a placebo or three separate doses of DehydraTECH-CBD over a 14-hour period then observed over a 24-hour period. “Reducing arterial stiffness in Lexaria’s recent hypertension study after only a single day of dosing with our DehydraTECH-CBD is a major discovery,” said Lexaria president John Docherty in the press release. “We know that increased arterial stiffness is correlated with many serious and life-threatening diseases affecting people worldwide, and we are optimistic that our latest findings could have future widespread implications for promotion of improved human health and wellness.”
